My New Years Resolution

I usually...never make a New Years Resolution. I'm not sure why? As a matter of fact, I can't remember the last time I did! I guess it's because I'm not a planner. I tend to live in the moment...and go with the flow. But this year I've decided to make one for 2012.

Drum roll please!

My New Years Resolution is to finish my book. I know...it's a big one! But if I don't do this...I'll probably never finish it. You see...I tend to procrastinate where writing is concerned. Writing a novel is hard work for me, unlike pottery...which is very easy, and fun! Now don't get me wrong...making pottery is hard work...physically. But it's in my blood...I live, sleep and breathe it!

Writing on the other hand...does not come easy for me. I've had to stretch myself like never before. It's been quite a journey so far, and I've learned a lot about myself. I must say that I do like stretching myself...but I tend to do it kicking and screaming! When I started my book more than 7 years ago, I wasn't sure if I could do it. Then it became a challenge...and now I need to get my characters out of my head, and tell their story.

So...I figured if I wrote this down and sent it out into the Universe...that it would happen! I would finish my book...and hopefully get published.
I "WILL" finish my book!
There...I said it!

I better get busy!

I'm dreaming of a white christmas

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know

Making a snowman with my Dad!

My Mom checking it out!

Where the tree-tops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write

May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

Coyote Glazes Part 2

I am really loving these glazes!

They're so easy to use...and they look great too!

This glaze looks so good on my Oak Leaves!
It's Leopard Shino...but I'm calling it Country Cream.
I'm definitely going to use this glaze again!

This one is glazed in Shino...but I call it Acorn.

Love these!

This is Light Blue Shino!

Goldenrod!

Goldenrod!

And last but not least...My Birdie Bowls in Light Blue Shino.

This definitely looks like Country Blue!

I'm really happy with these results! The firing was great!
No pinholes...no problems! Yay!

It's Finally Finished...Yay!!!

Yay! It's finally finished!

Here's my other workbench...it was free too! The wood was reclaimed, and the stainless steel top came from a local restaurant that was undergoing renovation. I'm so glad my husband knew them...they gave it to him for free! It's been used quite a bit...and has some dents and dings...but I don't care! I like it!

I thought this old light was going to work...but it doesn't! I need more light!
I'm gonna have to get a new one...a much taller one.

My husband Jim, and my son Nicholas did such a great job!

I love my new workshop!

Here's my workhorse!
I love this slab roller!

Bought some new glazes...can't wait to try them!

Okay...Now it's time to get dirty!!!

One Done...One To Go!

I love my new workbench! It's awesome...and it was free!

My hubby did such a good job on my workbench!
He used reclaimed wood that was leftover from other projects.

I asked my husband to make me some shelves for storage.
I'm so happy he can build things!

Here it is...all painted... and the canvas is on!

I found these hooks the other day...while I was looking for something! They were in the bottom of a drawer...still in the plastic it came in! I don't remember why I bought them...but they sure did come in handy. One will hold my towel!

The other will hold my clay wires, my ruler, and my little roller!

The shelves really came in handy.
I still have a lot of space behind the containers!
I recycled the lamp...I love doing that! I bought it a long time ago on sale, I think It was only $17.00 on clearance! It was in my hallway for a long time, then it was in the office...now it's on my workbench. I think it looks cute! And of course I had to put my Lab puppy statue on my bench. My son Nicholas gave it to me after we lost the best dog in the world...Lacy! She was a black lab, springer spaniel mix...we had her for 13 years. She was my shadow.
I still really miss her!

And here's my view!
I'm gonna love working in here!

Setting Up...And Getting Organized Part 2

I've been wanting to list my Boston Fish Dish on Etsy, for quite some time now...but unfortunately I haven't been able to get any good photos...either the color is not right, or I get a reflection of my camera and my hand, right in the middle of the dish...that annoys me! So...I've decided to keep him. He now has a permanent home in my workshop.

These are some old bowls I made...thought they would look nice on the top shelf!

More drawers for storing stuff!

Glazes, underglazes, and wax!

Now...I'm waiting for my workbenches to get finished! The first workbench is almost done...it just needs a little more paint, and my husband has already started on the other one! My workshop is almost ready! Yay!
